Why solar

Does your business need solar energy?

Energy costs are the second or third largest operating expense for most businesses, and they climb every year. Electricity rates rise about 8% per year on average, with sharp spikes during El Niño years when hydroelectric generation drops. If you pay ₡500.000 today, in 5 years you'll be paying ~₡750.000.

A commercial solar system is not a green expense: it's a financial asset. It cuts a recurring operating cost, generates a measurable return, turns sunlight into savings and profitability for your company, and raises the value of the property.

And beyond the financial impact, there's a real brand component: hotel guests, corporate clients and partners are increasingly making purchasing decisions with sustainability in mind. Your solar system is part of your value proposition.

Sectors

Commercial sectors we serve

🏨

Hotels and tourism

Hotels tend to keep high consumption for much of the day from air conditioning, laundry, kitchens, pools and common areas.

You cut a large share of that consumption and your operating costs, while strengthening a sustainability story that guests value more and more.
🛒

Retail and supermarkets

Refrigeration, lighting and point-of-sale systems create steady consumption that lines up well with solar production hours.

You use almost all the energy you generate and make your electricity costs more stable and predictable.
🏢

Offices and medical centers

These spaces concentrate much of their consumption during daytime hours, especially from air conditioning, lighting and specialized equipment.

You lower the electricity bill without putting operational continuity or critical equipment at risk.
🍽️

Restaurants

Kitchens, walk-in coolers, lighting and air conditioning generate significant consumption throughout much of the day.

You trim a recurring fixed cost that goes straight to the margin, where every colón counts.
Financial model

An investment backed by numbers

Every commercial proposal includes a technical and financial analysis so you can evaluate the project clearly, understand its expected return, and see how it will impact your company's cash flow. It includes:

  • An itemized upfront investment, covering equipment, installation and permitting.
  • Projected energy generation, calculated based on the site's location and project conditions.
  • Estimated monthly and annual savings, based on your rate and the company's consumption profile.
  • Cash flow over the system's useful life, considering different rate scenarios.
  • Payback period, IRR and NPV, to measure the project's profitability.
  • Sensitivity analysis, to assess how results change with variations in generation, rates and operating costs.

You don't just get a quote. You get the financial information your company needs to make an informed decision.

Financing

Financing options for businesses

Not every company wants to make the full investment with its own funds. That's why we evaluate different alternatives based on each business's cash flow, investment capacity and financial goals.

  1. Direct purchase. The company buys the system and captures the full benefit of the savings it generates. This offers the best financial return.
  2. Conventional bank loan. This finances the purchase and installation of the system through a traditional business loan. The terms, interest rate and length depend on the lender and the company's credit profile.
  3. Green loan. It's designed for investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainability. It can generally offer more favorable interest rates or terms better aligned with the project's return, though the final conditions depend on the bank and the company's credit assessment.

We prepare the project's technical and financial information and help you present it to institutions such as the Sistema de Banca para el Desarrollo, BAC, Banco Nacional, Promerica or BCR, to find the financing option that best fits your company's cash flow.

Interconnection paperwork and regulations

A solar system won't raise your electricity bill

In past years, some companies had bad experiences after installing panels. In most cases the problem wasn't the technology, but poorly sized projects, consumption profiles no one analyzed in depth, or a rate application that didn't properly reflect self-consumption.

Today there's a specific regulatory framework for distributed generation and a clearer rate methodology. Even so, every commercial project has to be analyzed before installing.

That's why we assess:

  • Your company's electricity rate and utility provider.
  • Consumption during solar generation hours.
  • Peak demand and the associated charges.
  • The energy you'll self-consume and what could flow back to the grid.
  • The system's real impact on your bill.

Your company focuses on its operation. We handle the technical and paperwork process from design through interconnection.

Technical assessment and proposal

Technical assessment and proposal

First we assess your business and consumption. When you share your electricity bills from the last 3 months, we determine initial viability and then schedule a technical visit.

Within an estimated 5 to 7 business days after gathering the necessary information, we deliver:

  • A preliminary system design, including proposed capacity, configuration and layout.
  • A projection of generation, savings and cash flow over the system's useful life.
  • A detailed investment figure.
  • The project's financial indicators, such as payback period, IRR and NPV.
  • An estimated schedule for installation, interconnection and permitting.
  • Financing alternatives that fit your company's profile.
